In the really old ones, you had multiple ways to interact with everything in the world, adding a lot of possibilities and weird puzzles into the mix.</p><p>If you know that era, you obviously know of Maniac Mansion, a point and click game released in 1985 that took place in the mansion of a deranged scientific.</p><p>It was made by Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick at Lucasfilm.They went on to create more adventure games before the genre disappeared.</p><p>Now that we have remasters of old adventure games and that the genre is finally back, they launched a Kickstarter to create a point and click game in the spirit of these old games, complete with pixely graphics and the exact same interface.</p><p>After successfully reaching their goal, they were hard at work on what became Thimbleweed Park.</p><p>Today, they shared a new trailer for the game and everything's looking great for lovers of the genre:</p>

• <p>Downwell is a game built entirely around one of the best stylised pieces of clothing in Bayonetta. It's the gun shoes, of course.This 2D vertical platformer from Japanese developer Ojiro Fumoto (aka "moppin") tasks you with travelling down a well. There are frogs, cute monsters, and other weird pixel creatures to shoot and avoid.</p><p>Not only is Downwell highly fashionably (guns as shoes, man), it's a mad-looking thing, with explosive shoe bullets taking over the screen in the midst of the action.</p><p>In fact, the gun shoes are so powerful that they allow you to hover in the air a little bit. Handy for avoiding spikes and other traps.</p><p>"I'm aiming for a game with high replayability that can be played in short bursts," Fumoto says.</p><p>As part of that design choice, it seems you'll be able to unlock different types of ammo for your gun shoes. This includes burst fire and machine gun, on top of the default standard fire.</p><p>You can see in the gif here that Downwell is controlled using three buttons that dictate movement left and right, and firing downwards.</p><p>We love the look of it and can't wait to check it out when it comes to "smartphones" (presumably iOS and Android) whenever it's finished - hopefully, later this year.</p><p>You can track Downwell's development over on Fumoto's website.</p>!
